UAF faculty: Inquiry demanded into lecturer’s burning death

The conference adopted a resolution demanding justice to the bereaved family.

The Academic Staff Association (ASA) of the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) has demanded a transparent inquiry into the death of Nazia Jamil, a UAE lecturer.


At a conference organised by the ASA on Tuesday, ASA President Prof Amjad Ali Aulakh, Dr Khalid Mehmood, Prof Tahir Siddiqi, Dr Rehana Qureshi, Dr Zara Batool, Aqeela and Jamil’s brother Atif Jamal spoke for an inquiry. Father and sister of the deceased were also present. Jamil was burnt on February 1 and died at a hospital on February 10.

Aulakh said that Jamil had rendered commendable services to the UAF. He said the teachers condemned all forms of violence against women.
