DHQ Hospital: Protest against rowdy attendants
The protesters say patient’s family attacked duty doctor.
HAFIZABAD:
Doctors and paramedics at the district headquarters hospital boycotted work on Monday to register their protest against the beating of a doctor by a patient’s family. They dispersed four hours later after the police registered their complaint. The protesters said that the patient’s family attacked duty doctor and the paramedical staff at the emergency ward. They also vandalised hospital property. Police said that Nasir, a resident of Thatta Panha, was brought to the emergency on Monday morning. They said his attendants attacked the doctor over alleged delay in attending him. When some nursing staff tried to rescue the doctor, they, too, were beaten, police added.
