KARACHI:
The Bhutto name has been prominent in Pakistani politics, but British Member of Parliament George Galloway says, "Bourgeois Pakistanis hate the Bhuttos because they challenge the power of feudals in Pakistan."

Galloway lit a cigar on stage as he began his session, "In Conversation with George Galloway," on the second day of the fourth Karachi Literature Festival.

He supports the Bhutto family with full stride. He says he has been "with the Bhutto family since Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was hanged and will stay with them till [his] last breath."

Galloway, a staunch leftist politician, returned to Pakistan after 15 years. "The last time I was in Karachi, I was campaigning in Lyari under Benazir Bhutto," he said as he reminisced on his meeting with Alam Channa.

A firm enthusiast of Palestinian rights, Galloway said, "I don't know if I'll ever see a free Palestine, but I know my children will."

He also remarked that he dated a Palestinian girl who had an AK-47. "She has six kids now."
