KARACHI:
Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) members appointed in provincial and federal ministries submitted their resignation to the MQM Coordination Committee on Sunday, reported Express News.

On Saturday, Deputy convener of the MQM Dr Farooq Sattar announced that the MQM have ended the alliance with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and will now sit in opposition.

Earlier on February 14, the MQM had left the in-camera session of Sindh assembly on pretext that the PPP was supporting Lyari gangsters.

The MQM Coordination Committee held emergency meetings later in the day in Karachi and London simultaneously, during which the infuriated leaders claimed that the PPP had damaged its ties with the MQM.

They released a press statement saying, “The MQM joined hands with the PPP to bring peace and prosperity to the province. Yet, the PPP leaders are spearheading the notorious criminals of Lyari.”

As a result, MQM members present in the provincial and federal ministry offices  submitted their resignations to the co-ordination committee.
