ISLAMABAD:
The Pakistan Coalition for Education (PEC) has praised the Sindh government for making education free and compulsory in the province.
The Sindh Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act was recently approved by the provincial assembly.
“This is a step in the right direction and will help provide free education to seven million children, who are out of school,” said Zehra Arshad, national coordinator of PCE, in a statement on Friday.
The procedures for implementing the law, she said, should be formulated in consultation with the civil society so that the policy really benefits the children.
