Heritage Conservation: Japan releases funds for Kalash Valley
Japanese government released Rs11.7 million funds.
CHITRAL:
The Japanese government released Rs11.7 million funds for construction of link roads and bridges in the Ayun and Kalash Valleys of Chitral as part of the Ayun and Valleys Development Programme (AVDP).
An MoU to this effect was signed between Japan’s Ambassador Hiroshi and chairman of the AVDP, Muhkamuddin in a ceremony held at the Japan Embassy, Islamabad on Friday.
The chairman AVDP thanked the Japan government for the provision of the developmental funds, and he called for extension of cooperation for the preservation of the Kalash culture and civilization in the valley.
Hiroshi expressed hope that the amount would be used for the wellbeing of the people in the area and added that their government will keep supporting the region in the future.
