ISLAMABAD: Members of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and National Accountability Bureau (NAB) left for Abu Dhabi, to bring Tauqir Sadiq back to Pakistan, on Thursday, reported Express News.
The former Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) chairman is suspected of embezzling Rs 83 billion during his tenure. He fled Pakistan for Abu Dhabi after the Supreme Court declared his appointment illegal in a case hearing on November 25, 2011.
The three-member team of FIA and NAB officials in Abu Dhabi will devise a plan to bring Tauqir Sadiq back.
Earlier, the Supreme Court had ordered Pakistani authorities in Pakistan and UAE to arrange for his deportation from the UAE and arrival into Pakistan by February 14.
As Sadiq's deportation procedure would be long and tedious, the team is expected to submit an application to the Supreme Court regarding postponement of his arrival.
The team would coordinate with immigration officials in the Pakistani Embassy to examine the over all legalities involved.
Earlier, Sadiq had been allegedly released by UAE authorities due to lack of documents against him.

@WTH: less than 83 billion for sure
I wonder how much more money they've spent traveling back and forth to bring him here?
