Bogus degree case: LHC seeks arguments on bail applications
The applications were moved by former minister Ghulam Sarwar and Punjab Board of Technical Education (PBTE) officials.
LAHORE:
The Lahore High Court on Tuesday sought arguments on bail applications in a bogus degree case registered with Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE).
The applications were moved by former minister Ghulam Sarwar and Punjab Board of Technical Education (PBTE) officials.
When the court resumed hearing on Tuesday, a law officer requested the court to cancel the bail. The ACE should be allowed to arrest them, he said.
The former minister’s counsel denied the allegations submitting that the case was registered on account of political rivalry. Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) had unlawfully registered a case against former minister, former chairman of PBTE, its secretary and two other officials for issuing duplicate diplomas.
