Damages: Explosion destroys Mardan college laboratory
According to the bomb disposal squad, three kilogrammes of explosives were used in the blast.
MARDAN:
A bomb planted by suspected militants destroyed the physics laboratory at the Government Post Graduate College Mardan.
DSP Khalid Naseem Khan told The Express Tribune that the blast occurred around 1pm, after which heavy contingents of police surrounded the college and evacuated the premises.
Suspect Mohib Gul, a resident of Bajori Korona, on the outskirts of Mardan, was arrested near the lab and moved to an undisclosed location.
“The explosion occurred after the lab technician had locked the door and was about to leave the college premises,” the DSP said No loss of human life was reported. According to the bomb disposal squad, three kilogrammes of explosives were used in the blast.
