Two children die, 13 people injured in road accidents

In Gujranwala, at least 10 people were injured when a passenger van over-turned.

Two children were killed and 13 people were injured on Tuesday in four road accidents.


A five-year-old was run over by a tractor-trolley on Tuesday. The accident happened near Tandlianwala, when, police said, Zahid Sarfraz and his son Muhammad Abdullah, residents of Chak 408-GB, were travelling on a tractor-trolley. Abdullah fell from the vehicle and was crushed under its wheel. He died on the spot.

In Multan, a child was killed and his sister was injured when they were hit by a speeding tractor-trolley. Rescue officials said that the children, residents of a slum in Zakariya Town, were on their way to the nearby market when the accident happened. The boy, 8, died on the spot and the girl, 4, was taken to Nishtar Hospital in a Rescue 1122 ambulance. Doctors treating her said that she was in critical condition. Police have seized the vehicle.

In Gujranwala, at least 10 people were injured when a passenger van over-turned. They were taken to Civil Hospital, where doctors treating them said that five of them were in critical condition. The rest were discharged a few hours later.

Rescue officials said that the accident took place due to poor visibility on account of fog.

In Sialkot, two people were injured after a car collided with a motorcycle.

Rescue officials said that Muhammad Maqbool and his mother were riding a motorcycle, when they were hit by a car near Haripur in Saddar police area. They were taken to a hospital, where they were both later reported to be out of danger.
