More provisions: Bringing up old resolutions
National Peoples Party’s Masroor Jatoi brings up resolution he had earlier moved regarding creation of new provinces.
KARACHI:
National Peoples Party’s Masroor Jatoi brought up a resolution that he had earlier moved against the proposed amendment to article 239 (4) for creating new provinces in the country without the consent of provincial assemblies.
Pakistan Peoples Party’s Pir Mazharul Haq who was the chairman of the special committee formed to look into the matter has returned from aboard so the meetings should begin soon, he demanded. “All MPAs are signatory on this resolution, which we want to get passed before this assembly completes its tenure,” he said.
On the other hand, Haq said that he had resigned from the committee because of the non-serious attitude of NPP’s and other MPAs. “We had decided that no one will share the details of the deliberation before the committee draws some conclusions and submit them before the assembly, but these people started lobbying against us in the media,” he said. After the heated debates that followed, the session was adjourned
till today.
