Football: Liverpool recognise Pakistan fan base
The founding member of the official fan club for Liverpool says it just goes to show how football is growing here.
Liverpool became the first European club to launch an official social media account for Pakistan, according to the club. The growing support for the English Premier League in Pakistan saw the club take notice and initiate their official Twitter handle for fans in the country. “It’s a great day for sports in Pakistan, especially football,” said Raheel Ahmed, the founding member of the official fan club for Liverpool in Pakistan. “It just goes to show how football is growing here and also that international teams recognise the support they get from Pakistani fans. I hope there are more inroads like these for sports in Pakistan.”
