Inflation: Index up 0.16% during week

The SPI for combined groups was up 0.02%; up from 190.72 points in the previous week to 190.75 points this week.

During the week under review, average prices of indexed items changed as follows: 15 items registered a decrease, 14 items increased and the remaining 24 items’ prices remained unchanged.

The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI), for the week ended February 7 has registered an increase of 0.16% over the previous week for the lowest income group.


The SPI for the week under review for the above mentioned group was recorded at 185.52 points against 185.53 points registered in the previous week, according provisional figures from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.


The SPI for combined groups was up 0.02%; up from 190.72 points in the previous week to 190.75 points this week.

Compared to the corresponding week last year, the SPI for combined groups inflated 6.86%.

During the week under review, average prices of indexed items changed as follows: 15 items registered a decrease, 14 items increased and the remaining 24 items’ prices remained unchanged.
