KARACHI:

Unidentified men robbed a jewellery shop in Jackson Bazaar, Keamari, on Wednesday, allegedly stealing gold weighing two kilogrammes and worth Rs10 million. The owner, Rashid, explained that all the locks were broken when he arrived at his shop on Wednesday. The thieves were able to break-in by cutting through its shutter. The jewellers held a protest demanding that the thieves be arrested and agreed to disperse only after the police assured them of their cooperation.

Jackson SHO Raheem Khan pointed out that the market doesn’t have a night watchman in spite of a number of jewellery shops being located there. He also pointed out that the actual weight of the stolen gold has yet to be verified. A case has been registered.
