
Deputy Collector of Customs Faiz Ali chaired the session and explained important features of WeBOC including increased customs efficiency and efficient deployment of resources, minimised clearance time at port, minimised customs processing time, paperless and single window customs operations, reduced cost of doing business and lower clearing/handling charges.
Ali informed the businessmen about the efficiency of the system for maintaining better cash flows, transparency and integrity, correct revenue realisation, cargo information, on-line manifest filing and many other features.
He said the customs department was striving to make stakeholders more familiar with WeBOC and customs officials were always available to resolve their problems related to the system.
The deputy collector of customs said the WeBOC system will not only reduce processing time drastically for goods clearance, but will also work in accordance with latest SROs and international price mechanisms.
