NEW DELHI:

Rise of the Zombie (ROTZ), India’s first zombie thriller promises to give you chills. Its lead actor, Luke Kenny, says the long process of prosthetic make-up for his final look in the movie was “excruciating”.

In the movie, Kenny plays the role of Neil Parker, a passionate wildlife photographer who pays more attention to wildlife than his own life and later transforms into a zombie.

He admits that getting into the look used to take him four to five hours every day. “It was an excruciating experience, but I am glad that ROTZ will be India’s first zombie film. It was worth it,” Kenny said in a statement.

“Ritu Jhanjani, who has done her workshops in Hollywood has done an excellent job with the prosthetic make-up. She is truly world-class,” he added.

Talking about the film, he said, “It is a horror thriller and the Indian audience loves horror films, especially the youth, who comprise a huge majority of the movie audience.”

The logo of the movie shows a half blood-stained face with blood dripping from the mouth and thin legs in the mouth of a zombie. A feather near the shoulder suggests the zombie ate a bird.

Co-directed by Kenny and Devaki Singh, and co-produced by BSI Entertainment and Kenny Media, the movie is slated to release February 22.
