Transitional appointments: Mubarak appointed acting CCPO

The acting CCPO is expected to visit the Lahore Press Club on Saturday to meet television and print crime reporters.

LAHORE: DIG (security) Ahmed Mubarak will serve as the acting chief city police officer (CCPO) after Aslam Tareen retired from service on Saturday (today). Sources in the Police Department said that besides Mubarak, Additional Inspector General (Investigation) Naseemuz Zaman and Gujranwala Regional Police Officer Capt (retired) Ameen Wayeen were strong candidates for the job. The acting CCPO is expected to visit the Lahore Press Club on Saturday to meet television and print crime reporters. Mubarak joined the police service as an ASP in 1988 and has served as district police officer in the Sargodha and Gujrat. He had also served in Layyah, Bahawalpur, Faisalabad and Gujranwala in various capacities.
