EC Directive: Sindh locks coffers, bans hiring ahead of polls

Following the directives of election commission, Sindh government has also banned recruitment and the diversion of public funds.
According to notification issued by Services, General Administration and Coordination Department all kinds of recruitment in any ministry, division, department or institution of the federal, provincial and local government is banned forthwith.
Hiring is allowed only though provincial and federal public service commissions. The notification further said that the diversion of funds already allocated to various development projects is also banned. This means the funds allocated for ongoing schemes would also stand frozen.
The provincial government gave the green light within nine days of an election commission’s directives to implement the decision in order to avoid pre-poll rigging.
