Rivalry, road accident: 3 killed, one injured in two incidents

A man was killed and his wife injured in shooting allegedly by his rivals, says police.

KASUR: Three people died and a woman was injured in two incidents on Wednesday. Police said a man was killed and his wife injured in shooting allegedly by his rivals. The assault occurred in Khudian Town when Anayat Ali and his wife Azra Bibi were on their way home on a motorcycle. Witnesses told the police that some men, also on a motorcycle, stopped the couple, shot at them and fled. Ali died on the spot. His wife was taken to a hospital, where she was later reported to be out of danger. The family named some suspects in the FIR. No one has been arrested so far. Elsewhere, two men were killed after being run over by a truck on the Kasur-Raiwind Road. Police said Muhammad Arif and his cousin Mehmood Ahmad were riding a motorcycle, when a truck drove over them near Rao Khanwala, killing both of them on the spot. The truck driver fled.
