AJK PM warns India against using ‘indiscriminate’ force
Khan said that it would threaten possible prospects of negotiated peace settlement.
ISLAMABAD:
Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan on Tuesday warned India against using ‘indiscriminate’ force in Indian Kashmir, saying that it would threaten possible prospects of negotiated peace settlement.
“India is pushing the region towards another war. There will be very dangerous repercussions of it”, Attique said at a news conference here, a day after the Indian troops opened fire at protestors in Srinagar which killed more than a dozen people.
There has been a dramatic surge in the protests led by the activists, and also in the retaliatory violence exercised by more than half a million forces in the Indian Kashmir.
Attique condemned the killing of innocent protestors and called for an international inquiry into the events that have been unfolding lately.
Attique said he would urge members of Britain and the European parliament of Kashmiri origin to lodge a criminal case against the Indian ‘brutality’ in the International Court of Justice.
“The killing of Kashmiris is the worst kind of state terrorism. The world must raise a voice against it,” Sardar said, as he announced that ‘solidarity’ will be expressed across Pakistan and AJK on Friday, with those resisting violence on the other side of the Line of Control (LoC).
The prime minister said that the international community including the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) should take note of the ‘rapidly deteriorating situation’ in Indian Kashmir. He also urged India to avoid the continued violation of human rights.
