Wood theft: Two Irrigation Dept workers caught

The complainant said that 15 trees and two girders had been stolen from the bungalow.

FAISALABAD:
Two Irrigation Department workers were caught stealing timber from a public forest on Monday. Dijkot police said that the Pakka Anna sub divisional officer had filed a complaint against Ashraf and Iqbal and accusing them of stealing wood from the Pakka Anna Bungalow. The complainant said that 15 trees and two girders had been stolen from the bungalow. He said on Monday an inspection team raided Chak 92-JB and found the two workers taking away wood and a saw. He said the team arrested the workers and seized the wood and the saw. Police said some residents of the area alleged that the wood was being stolen in connivance with the XEN and the SDOs concerned. They said they were investigating.
