Improving lives: Second round of anti-polio campaign starts across Sindh
Vaccination teams have ventured out onto the field once again
KARACHI:
Vaccination teams have ventured out onto the field once again to start the second round of the anti-polio vaccination campaign.
“The campaign has been started in 21 districts of the province at the same time,” Mazhar Khamisani, the head of the Expanded Programme of Immunisation in Sindh, told The Express Tribune via telephone. “Only Tharparkar and Karachi is not included in this round.”
The three-day campaign will target 3.3 million children under the age of five. The districts’ administrations have to follow the government’s orders to assure additional security to the vaccinators and arrange for police and paramilitary security whereever they think it is required, said Khamisani.
The government has asked district administrations to schedule campaigns according to their convenience and coordinate with the police for security arrangements.
