Party stance: MQM backs Hazara province demand
Altaf Hussain pledged support from his party saying that the MQM supported their demand for a separate province.

Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain on Sunday said that his party would continue to raise its voice for the rights of the Hazara community. According to a press release, the leader of Tehreek-e-Sooba Hazara Haider Zaman had called Altaf Hussain and told the latter that the hopes of the Hazara community rested on him.
In response, Altaf Hussain pledged support from his party saying that the MQM supported their demand for a separate province.
Meanwhile, the MQM chief also called upon the Central Executive Committee of his party to restructure the organisational set-up in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and asked the committee to prepare a list of candidates who will contest elections from Punjab on the MQM ticket.
