PESHAWAR:
If the government wants to dissolve the assemblies to please just one person then the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) should better join Dr Tahirul Qadri’s party, said Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
During a briefing to journalists in Peshawar on Sunday, the JUI-F leader, while commenting on Qadri’s statement, said that no one should be allowed to be a political pawn, and that too of a person whose party has no representation in Parliament.
Fazl said that the solution of every problem lay in the Constitution and that should be followed. Decisions should be taken after forging consensus with other political parties.
The JUI-F leader said that the caretaker prime minister should be decided based on mutual consensus for which negotiations with opposition parties are under way. He added that wishes of any one person should not dictate the proceedings of the election, or the composition of the election commission.
“If some people are in favour of Qadri they should merge their parties with his (Qadri’s) party,” he remarked.
Furthermore, the JUI-F chief said that the hue and cry for Bahawalpur South Punjab province has only been raised to win more votes in the coming election.
