An abandoned government-run boys’ high school in Akka khel, Bara was destroyed by explosives planted by unidentified militants. An official of the political administration Bara, Javaid Afridi, said at approximately 2pm on Sunday militants destroyed the building by planting explosives inside. After the explosion was heard, residents rushed to the site and started removing the debris. The official added the boundary wall and three classrooms of the school were completely destroyed. More than 90 schools have been destroyed by militants in the Agency. Most of the residents of Akka Khel are now living in Jalozai Camp for Internally Displaced Persons, where tent schools have been set-up for students to continue their studies.
