Creating jobs is a priority: Memon

Around 117,274 people, 31.5 per cent of whom are women, are being trained in various areas.

KARACHI: The Pakistan Peoples Party-led government has focused on reducing unemployment in its tenure, said Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon on Thursday.

He credited the Sindh government’s Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Youth Development Programme for providing vocational training to thousands of youngsters. Around 117,274 people, 31.5 per cent of whom are women, are being trained in various areas, said Memon.

“The World Bank has given a grant of $16 million for training of 45,000 youngsters. The Japan Social Development Fund has given [us] a grant of $3 million to train another 5,000 youth.”
