Eid Miladun Nabi: Prisoners to get special meals

The 32 prisons in the province have been decorated with lights.

The 32 prisons in the province have been decorated with lights and their 49,348 inmates will get special meals on Eid Miladun Nabi on Friday, said jail officials.



Lahore DIG Mubashar Ahmad Khan said that the prisoners would be served chicken quorma, beef biryani, a sweet dish and tea. The inmates’ relatives also have permission to send them home-cooked meals on the day, he added.

A Seeratun Nabi conference will be held at Kot Lakhpat Central Jail to mark the birthday of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) while naat competitions and lectures by leading religious scholars have been arranged for all the jail in the province, he said. The winners of the naat competitions will be awarded prizes.

Camp Jail Superintendent Ejaz Asghar said that the prison had been decorated with lights.
