Having already clinched the series 2-0, New Zealand will go into the third and final One-Day International (ODI) against South Africa in Potchefstroom today looking for a clean sweep.

Captain Brendon McCullum said the series win was a source of much-needed motivation for his team, especially against a top team like South Africa.

“We can’t underestimate how big a victory this is,” said McCullum, according to ESPNCricinfo. “It’s important to realise that we looked the giants in the eye and were able to come away with success.”

Meanwhile, South Africa’s Colin Ingram said the batsmen would need to concentrate on the placement of their opponent’s fielders.

“We probably just have to be slightly more aware of what fielders are where,” said Ingram. “New Zealand have got some outstanding fielders.”
