Young Doctors: Boycott of OPDs continues
Pakistan Academy of Family Physicians appealed to Punjab government to resolve issues with YDA through negotiations.
LAHORE:
The Young Doctors Association (YDA) Punjab continued its boycott of outpatient departments (OPDs) at public hospitals for the seventh day on Monday. Instead of seeing patients at the OPDs indoors, doctors have been examining patients in camps set up outside the hospitals as a form of protest over the action taken against YDA members in Gujranwala and other issues. At Jinnah Hospital, doctors scuffled with members of the administration when the latter stopped a truck carrying tents from coming onto the premises. The truck was eventually able to enter after some 100 doctors gathered at the gate and overpowered the administration members. Meanwhile, the Pakistan Academy of Family Physicians appealed to the Punjab government to resolve issues with the YDA through negotiations.
