Jennifer Lawrence dissed fellow Oscar nominees on Saturday Night Live
Following her Golden Globes win, Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence shows off comedy chops on SNL.
Following her Golden Globes win, Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence hit the stage of Saturday Night Live to show off her comedy chops — she took a swing at each of her fellow best actress Oscar nominees. “Ladies I love you, but you’re about to get served,” she joked, according to eonline.com.
“One thing happened at the Globes that I need to clarify. During my acceptance speech, I said ‘I beat Meryl,’ which is a quote from the movie The First Wives Club. Some people took that as me trash-talking Meryl Streep, which is crazy,” Lawrence said in her opening monologue.
“Jessica Chastain? More like Jessica Chast-ain’t winning no Oscar on my watch,” she quipped. Continuing on to Naomi Watts, she said, “You were in The Impossible. You know what else is impossible? You beating me on Oscar night.”
Next in line was nine-year-old Quvenzhane Wallis. “You think you can beat me? Whatchu talkin’ bout, Wallis?,” she joked, according to usmagazine.com. “Also, the alphabet called, they want their letters back.” She finished off with a take at Emmanuelle Riva, “An 85-year-old French lady. Yeah, I think I can take you.”
