Murder case: Charges framed against Shan Khusro

Accused pleads not guilty.

Khusro has admitted to shooting his classmate, but maintains that it was an accident.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Abdul Qayyum on Saturday indicted Shan Khusro, son of former Lahore commissioner and Additional Federal Secretary Pervez Khusro, for the alleged murder of his class fellow, Hamza Elahi.On Saturday, Khusro pled not guilty to the charges, after which the court indicted him to start regular trial proceedings.


The judge summoned prosecution witnesses for February 16. According to the FIR registered on the complaint of Fazal Elahi, the father of Hamza Elahi, his son went out with Shan Khusro on the night of June 2, 2012, and did not return. He was later told that his son had been found shot dead. Khusro has admitted to shooting Elahi, but by accident.



He said that he and his classmate had gone out for a drive and some aerial firing using an unlicensed gun that he had obtained from a personal contact in Farooqabad. He said that he was trying to remove a bullet from the chamber of the gun when it went off accidentally, hitting Elahi in the head. In a panic, he threw the body out the car and drove away, he said.
