Qadri has hired four lawyers who will appear in the federal court on his behalf and will maintain that Qadri received complete security in Pakistan, said sources.
Meanwhile, Qadri’s lawyer Mendel Green who had requested for Qadri’s asylum in Canada refused to contest the summon order issued by authorities.
Canadian authorities had summoned Qadri on February 5, and sought explanation from him for violating the oath he took while seeking asylum.
The authorities said that Qadri violated the oath stating that he was not allowed to enter the country he had sought asylum from.
Qadri is scheduled to fly back to Canada on January 27 along with his family.

I am sufficiently old and adequately read to understand that you don't condone murder, beheading, throat-slitting, of any one, for real or imagined offenses. I thought ET made a mistake in publishing the initial comment, but considering the eye-opening reply, I say just leave both comments there for good and all to see how such fears and prejudices get justified, and no doubt the news of high profile religious cleric like Tahir-ul-Qadri being called by the Canadian courts to be questioned on possibly breaking the law would raise them again.
This is very bad and false news! Tahir ul Qadri showed the documentation to the press today which states that he got his stay on the basis of being a world renowned islamic scholar and that he is a doctorate in Constitutional law! That was back in 1999 and he got his passport in 2005 when he left the parliament!

This is same thing as Governor of Sind and MQM member was taking welfare money, even though he was governor in Pakistan for more than a year. @Zalim singh: In a recent TV show, Qadri said that Saudi Arabia rejected his application for Citizenship. So, he applied for Canadian citizenship.
Qadri's march proved to be a storm in a tea cup, much ado about nothing. The way he hankered after, nay begged for, media attention reflects that he was tasked by some foreign agency to put up a show to justify the money he has been devouring for years. The fed govt. started and then stopped ferreting out his financial strings. The people need an explanation about why he staged the long march and agreed to a noneforceable agreement. Surely Qadri is a liar, a paper tiger.
This is to be confirm that he (TUQ) met the malaoon cartoonist (I don't want to right his name) and if so then how over govt is owned his personality as a democratic person.

Qadri should be thankful to Mushahid Hussain for the face saving. As Long Marchers were set to abandon the Long March due to rain, cold weather and illness of children, Agha Murtaza Poya called Mushahid Hussain for face saving and rescue. When the news reached Qadri that Mushahid has convinced Govt to give Qadri a safe exit and face saving, only then Qadri gave the ultimatum of 3 pm for negotiations. What a drama.....poor Pakistani audience.

Now coming to your friend's narration, Baby Jesus doesn't make any kind of sense, nor any muslim will teach his sons something like that. Because muslims believe and respect Jesus (Peace Be Upon Him). The kids might have said "BABY JEWS" which your friend might have wrongly interpreted as baby Jesus. Taking an oath in Canada and taking one in Pakistan are two totally different matters.......he's learning the hard way.

I cannot believe that ISI did not know that Qadri got his Canadian citizenship on the basis of his asylum application. Bad luck for Musharraf as he was planning to coming back to Pakistan on the shoulders of the army and Qadri.
Does anyone know the nationality status of rest of Qadris family like his sons and daughters? Do they also hold Canadian nationality as asylum seekers? It would be strange if only Qadri is an asylum seeker and the rest of his family are not.
I think that Canada can revoke his citizenship as the application for asylum was deceitful. Citizenship of naturalized citizens can be revoked but citizenship by birth cannot be revoked. Qadri's case is more weak as he holds citizenship of Pakistan also. This is another mystery why Canada did not question Qadri as to why he is retaining and probably also renewing his Pakistan Passport, a country he is fleeing?
Qadri has been in Pakistan since Dec. 23, 2012 and these things are coming out only after his long march ended.

I would like to tell you all of a incident that occurred to a v good friend of mine yesterday which upset her terribly and she still cant quite talk much about it. She was in a supermarket in the inner city which was doing a quiet trade at the time. She was alone in an aisle when a muslim man entered with 2 v small children around the ages of 3 or at the most maybe 4. The 2 little boys had v large toy guns in their hands, almost bigger than then themselves. They were passing slowly by when my friend heard one child say this comment to the other. ' WE can go kill the baby Jesus with these now' said one, and the other 'and those people that like him'. The father looked guilt stricken when he realised they had said right under my friend's nose and made an effort to stop the children saying more but they just looked puzzled. Of course they were puzzled because no v small child would know anything of this nature without being taught by the father and prob the mother in the family home.So they would have been wondering what are we doing wrong? My friend was distraught and livid with anger. He was African in appearance, possibly Somalian and this area opf our city has a large no of refugee and immigrants living in the free public housing we give them.My friend is v weel educated and doing a Phd in Health issues. She is the last person who would say anything racial etc against people like this. I will let you all think on what this means as it wont be just 'an isolated case', as people stupidly lull their minds, its will be common in the privacy of their homes.
As an Indian I think our politics are confusing but I will not even begin to understand Pakistani politics. The leader of one of the top parties is a UK citizen. The Pakistan Army has billions in assets and businesses (everything up to biscuit manufacturing) and who knows where that money goes. Gilani went and now is Raja going or not going? Will any Pakistani friends here tell me who they think is going to be the Prime Minister of Pakistan now? What is going to happen???
