Demonstration: Teachers demand permanent status
The teachers were appointed in November 2010.
PESHAWAR:
Provincial Ad hoc Lecturers Association (PALA) held a demonstration outside the provincial assembly asking the government to regularise them. More than 200 teachers took part in the protest and vowed to continue demonstrating until their demands were met. The teachers were appointed in November 2010. However, despite repeated pledges by Awami National Party leaders, they were not hired on a permanent basis, PALA President Qazi Zafar Iqbal told The Express Tribune. Two years have passed, but the government has yet to regularise their services.
