Report cards: Zardari reviews performance of PPP legislators
MNAs and MPAs of the party submitted their four year performance report to the president and chairperson.
KARACHI:
Pakistan Peoples Party chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and co-chairperson President Asif Ali Zardari, reviewed the performance of PPP members from Hyderabad district during a meeting at Bilawal House on Friday.
MNAs and MPAs of the party submitted their four-year performance report to the president and the party’s chairperson, and informed them about the various development schemes they initiated in their constituencies.
“The president sought our performance reports and also inquired about the [activities] of our political opponents,” said PPP Hyderabad general secretary Amanullah Sial. The lawmakers told the president about the number of registered voters in their constituencies in 2008 and 2012.
Another party leader said that President Zardari asked them about the ways they were countering the Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz’s emerging political alliance with Sindhi nationalists.
The president also took note of the complaints of the party members of his own party, and directed Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah to lease out 1,200 goths in Hyderabad district.
