Safety first: All schools to remain closed today
Associations of private schools announced school closures, owing to the security situation in the city.

The associations of private schools in the city unanimously announced on Thursday that they would keep all schools closed on Friday (today), owing to the security situation in the city.
The Private Schools Management Association president Sharafuzzaman said that all schools in the city would stay closed on January 18 (today). Jameel Yousuf, who heads an association of Cambridge system schools in the city, told The Express Tribune that there was a lot of risk in keeping schools open, keeping in mind Thursday’s events. “We will keep schools closed, at least for [Friday].” The Mama Parsi School, BVS, Happy Home, Habib Public School and Habib Girls School, Al Murtaza School and others are members of this association.
The Beaconhouse School System also announced that it would keep all of its branches closed today.
