Boxing: Khan to make welterweight debut

Former world champion spoiled Ricky Hatton’s comeback last year.

Amir Khan is set to finally make his welterweight debut on home soil with reports suggesting he is targeting a fight with Vyacheslav Senchenko, according to ESPN. The former world champion spoiled Ricky Hatton’s comeback last year and now Khan wants to avenge his friend’s defeat in April. This would be his first home fight in two years. “There are fights and titles to be won again,” said Khan. I think naturally I’m not big enough to be a welterweight yet but I’ll know when the time is right.”
