Horrible employee?: Man suspected of getting his boss abducted given into police remand

Judge grants police custody of Chinese national for nine days on suspicion he was involved in his boss' kidnapping.

A Chinese national was Wednesday remanded for nine days into police custody in a kidnapping case.

Anti-Terrorism Court-III Judge Ghulam Mustafa Memon granted physical custody of Hai Feng to Darakhshan police station till January 25.

Police told the court that unidentified people had kidnapped Yugang Bai, an officer at the Hang Solar Technologies, from his house on Khayaban-e-Mujahid of Defence Housing Society (DHA) on January 6, 2013 along with his his employee Hai Feng.

The kidnappers though released Feng  the same day, instructing him to arrange Rs10 million for the safe release of his boss.

Feng returned to tell Bai’s wife about the incident. Feng apparently also showed her some pictures where the kidnappers could be seen pointing their guns Bai.


Police said while Feng told Bai’s wife about kidnappers, colleagues were told that the boss was in Lahore.

With this information, Darakhshan police registered a case of kidnapping for ransom, FIR15/2013, under Sections 365-A and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code read with Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997 on complaint of MA Chua.

In a turn of events, Bai turned up at his residence on January 13. Suspecting Feng’s involvement in the episode, he had his employee arrested.

Police arrested Feng on Tuesday January 15, 2013, and presented him in court on Wednesday. Before the judge, the police requested that the suspect be remanded into their custody so that investigators can complete their investigation into Feng’s involvement in the case.

Judge Ghulam Mustafa Memon approved the request, granting police Feng’s custody till January 25, directing the investigation officer to submit charge sheet on next date of hearing.
