YDA Protest: Doctors to work outdoors from today

"No doctor will serve inside OPDs,” says YDA Media Secretary.

“We don’t want patients to suffer, so young doctors will be at full strength, examining patients outside the OPDs in camps,” says Dr Khan.

LAHORE:

The Young Doctors Association (YDA) Punjab has announced that its members will boycott outpatient departments at public hospitals across the Punjab from Wednesday, but will see patients outside.

“We don’t want patients to suffer, so young doctors will be at full strength, examining patients outside the OPDs in camps,” YDA Media Secretary Dr Mudassir Razzaq Khan told a press conference. “However, no doctor will serve inside OPDs.” Dr Khan said that the protest would continue until cases against doctors for roughing up the medical superintendent of Gujranwala district headquarters hospital were dropped, FIRs were registered against those who allegedly attacked a delegation of YDA members in Gujranwala, and the punitive transfers of YDA members following their recent strike were also cancelled.
