NOWSHERA:
A student was killed in a dispute inside the premises of Government Degree College (GDC) for Boys on Monday.

Inspector Alamzeb Khan of Cantonment police station said at around 11:45am, he was told a student was shot in a brawl inside the college. After rushing to the site, students and teachers told the inspector that a student of Polytechnic College Nowshera was gunned by a student of GDC.

Ziyad, a third year student at the Polytechnic College had a fight with Muhammad Rehman, an FSc student at the degree college a week earlier. Ziyad threatened Rehman of dire consequences, said Khan.

“Ziyad was fooling around with Rehman which resulted in the dispute,” said Khan, adding that Ziyad came to the degree college to beat Rehman again on Monday morning.

Rehman, however, called his cousin Asadullah, who started thrashing Ziyad. During a fist fight, Asad pulled out a pistol and shot Ziyad, leaving him seriously injured.

Ziyad was rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Police arrested Asad along with Rehman and recovered a pistol and two bullets from their possession.
