SALU syndicate approves promotions

Unperturbed by a crippling deficit of Rs202 million, SALU decides to promote over dozen staff members.

SUKKUR: Unperturbed by a crippling deficit of Rs202 million, the Shah Abdul Latif University (Salu), Khairpur, decided to promote over a dozen staff members to higher pay scales during its 74th syndicate meeting on Sunday.

All the promotions had been approved by the varsity’s selection board, which met on January 12. Salu vice chancellor Prof. Dr Parveen Shah said that the university would continue to focus “on providing quality education to students and address the problems faced by teachers, officers” and other staff members.

Around nine faculty members were promoted to the post of a professor in BPS-21, followed by three who were promoted to associate professor in BPS-20.

Several employees were promoted from BPS-20 and BPS-19, while the university’s syndicate also approved fresh appointments in BPS- 17.
