The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has put forward a proposal to the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) and government representatives to hold a meeting to discuss a resolution to the ban imposed on them by the world body.
In a letter sent by the IOC to the acting president of the Indian Assoication V K Malhotra, the world body listed two pre-requisites for it to consider lifting the ban, according to The Times of India. “The suspended IOA must be in a position to hold free, fair, transparent and credible elections without any external interference and it should also review its own constitution and internal regulations and make necessary amendments, in close collaboration with the IOC,” stated the letter.
