Building collapse: One killed, 11 injured in gas leak explosion
Another five injured in Gujranwala from roof caving in.

A man died and 11 people were injured on Monday in an explosion at a house reportedly caused by gas leak. The injured were taken to Allied Hospital, where they were reported to be out of danger.
The explosion occurred at a house in Farooqabad Colony near Korian Bridge.
Rescue officials said that gas apparently leaking from a room heater accumulated in a room. When one of the family members switched on a light, there was an explosion. The roof of the house came down, trapping the family of 12 underneath.
Some neighbours called the Rescue service and started removing the rubble. The injured were pulled out after an hour. One of them, identified as Hassan, was already dead.
The injured were taken to Allied Hospital, where doctors treating them said that two of them had several broken bones. They were reported to be out of danger.
Five of the injured were identified as Muhammad Akram, 50, Nazar, 40, Rimsha Bibi, 30, Babar, 15, Masharam, 10.
District Coordination Officer Muhammad Ameen Chaudhary visited the scene. He later also visited the hospital to inquire after the injured.
He constituted a four-member inquiry committee comprising the works and services executive district officer, the assistant commissioner, the Iqbal Town tehsil municipal officer and the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited deputy chief. The committee was told to file a report on the incident in 24 hours.
Meanwhile, D-Type Colony station house officer said that police were also investigating the incident.
Five labourers injured in roof collapse
In Gujranwala, five labourers were injured when a roof of an under-construction house collapsed. It took rescue officials two hours to pull out the trapped labourers from underneath the rubble. They were taken to Civil Hospital, where they were reported to be out of danger.
Workers said the roof of the house in Malikpura in Girjakh area collapsed when new beams were being laid. Those injured were identified as Riaz, Manzoor, Shahbaz, Liaqat and Shabbir.
