IED explosion: Civilian killed, three security officials injured

Police cordoned off the area and have launched a search operation.

A 12-year-old was killed and three security officials injured by a remote-controlled improvised explosive device (IED).


The IED targeted a security convoy passing Qilla Shah Beg, Michni at 2.30pm on Sunday. Police official Gul Shed Khan of Saro Kallay police station confirmed the blast, adding the personnel were of the AK-35 Regiment, who were stationed in Mohmand Agency.



The deceased was identified as Saddam Khan who was passing by on his cycle. The official added that Khan was shifted to a hospital in Shabqadar where he succumbed to his injuries. The security personnel were taken to Peshawar in critical condition. Police cordoned off the area and have launched a search operation. No arrest was made till the filing of this report.
