Better job opportunities, improvements in social structures, academics demanded.

The internally-displaced persons (IDPs) of Orakzai Agency settled in Hangu are living in subpar conditions and the government should provide them adequate facilities.
This was the crux of a meeting held at a private school here on Sunday.
Social activists, tribal elders and IDPs participated in the meeting.
Abdul Wahab, an elder, said that the residents of Orakzai Agency have been living in Hangu for the last four years because of the grim law and order situation in their native areas. However, they still lack proper facilities in their camps.
“Corruption at all levels has robbed the IDPs and locals of a proper social structure,” he added.
Maulana Abdul Jalil, a cleric, said the youth living in the camps are jobless, which is creating problems for their families.
He added that the IDPs should be provided with quality educational facilities and access to schools.
Umer Hayat, an activist, said that the shortage of teaching staff in the area is putting the future of students at stake.
“If the government cannot provide teachers, we will provide teachers for the college,” he said, adding that the future of their children is of key importance.
He alleged that some political elements are trying to relocate the local vocational institute, adding that the federal government should take action to prevent this.
