The zoo in winter: ‘The animals are being kept warm’

All animals and birds are healthy as all cages and enclosures are being taken care of with the help of the staff.

LAHORE: Zoological Garden authorities have draped polythene sheets and installed heaters in all cages and enclosures of animals and birds to save them from the cold weather.

Lahore Zoo Director Shafqat Ali on Sunday said that these precautionary measures have been taken because of the current long spell of the winter season. He said all the animals and birds are healthy as all cages and enclosures are being taken care of with the help of the staff. He said that a veterinary doctor checks all animals and birds daily and immediate preventive measures were taken if any captive is not well. Ali added that proper food was also being served to them according to an approved schedule.
