Sectarian unrest: Bus torched amid protests

The protests in different areas also caused of massive traffic jam on MA Jinnah Road and other main traffic arteries.

KARACHI: A passenger bus was set on fire in Ancholi area during a protest by the Shia community against the Quetta blasts that claimed scores of lives on Thursday. Several Shia-dominated areas remained disturbed on Saturday in Karachi including Ancholi, Malir, Jaffer Tayar, Abbas Town and Numaish Chowrangi where people including women and children staged protests against the incident. The roads leading to the National Highway were also blocked while a passenger bus was torched in Ancholi by unidentified persons. Extra contingents of law enforcers were deployed in the affected areas to disperse the protesters. The protests in different areas also caused of massive traffic jam on MA Jinnah Road, Sharae Pakistan, Malir, Sharae Faisal and other main traffic arteries.
