KU reports 2,000 degrees stolen from its press
Police from Mobina Town police station reveale that culprits managed to enter printing press by cutting through roof.

In a second break in within a week, around 2,000 degrees were stolen from the Karachi University’s official printing press, known as Bureau of Compilation, Composition and Translation, on Saturday.
Police officials from the Mobina Town police station revealed that the culprits managed to enter the printing press by cutting through the roof. SHO Akhtar Latif Mughal said that the degrees belong to seven different departments and the police have registered an FIR.
Earlier on Monday, Rs25,000 were stolen from the book bank situated adjacent to the university’s central library. Karachi University’s Campus Security Adviser Dr Khalid Iraqi told The Express Tribune that blank degree certificates were in the process of being printed and that at least two bundles were found missing through the serial numbers.
“The university’s examination department officials have been directed to blacklist the serials so that nobody is able to use the certificates after filling in the data,” said Dr Iraqi.
An official of the Bureau of Compilation, Composition and Translation, however, said that the robbery was an inside job. “Such incidents cannot take place without the involvement of people working at the university,” the official told The Express Tribune on condition of anonymity.
