Fundamental right: IHC dismisses plea seeking order against long march
IHC chief justice observes that holding a long march was the fundamental right of everyone.
ISLAMABAD:
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday dismissed a plea seeking a restraining order against the long march announced by Tahirul Qadri, head of Minhajul Quran International.
IHC Chief Justice Hameedur Rehman dismissed the plea, observing that holding a long march was the fundamental right of everyone and it could not be termed an attempt to establish a parallel democratic system.
However, the single bench of Chief Justice Rehman advised the petitioner to approach the proper forum to redress his grievances.
