‘Pay up’: 55 showrooms sealed
The project will cost an estimated Rs177 million and will be built in eight months.

The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Commercialization Directorate staff on Thursday sealed 55 showrooms along the Samanabad and Gulshan-i-Ravi main roads for not paying commercialisation fees. The owners and occupants of the properties had been repeatedlu served notices for depositing the commercialisation fee. After the deadline expired, LDA staff sealed the properties. Permission for temporary/annual commercialisation has been withdrawn on 46 roads from December 31. Owners and occupants of these properties have been served notices for getting these properties permanently commercialised without delay. They have been advised that if they fail to apply for permanent commercialisation within seven days, their properties may be sealed without further notices. Meanwhile, the LDA has invited tenders for the construction of a community centre at Sher Shah Block, Garden by February 2.
