Conditions by KWSB: Pay bills to register complaints

Complaints about water and sewerage problems will be registered only if bills have been paid, decided the managing director of Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB), Misbahuddin Farid. Farid declared 2013 ‘The Year of Revenue’, adding that the organisation’s first priority this year was to collect unpaid dues. It was decided that the policy of offering 35 per cent discount to consumers who paid their dues in one installment and a 25 per cent discount to those who paid in three installments will be discontinued. Additionally, community complaints would be registered only if at least 75 per cent of the residents of the area had paid their dues.
